Investors Wait and See, JCI Opens Higher


Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index at the opening of trading on Monday (16/8) opened up 5.45 points amid the action of waiting for market participants to observe the extension of the community activity restriction PPKM, which is expected to be relaxed given the decline in COVID-19 cases in the past few days.

"We expect the JCI to move flat today awaiting the announcement of the PPKM extension," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange opened up 5.45 points (0.09%) in trading on Monday to 6,144.94.

Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 rose 1.63 points (0.19%) to 853.01.
