Investors Selective Buying Support JCI to Strengthen

Market players bought shares selectively, supporting the strengthening of the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the opening of trading Tuesday (27/7) by 14.54 points.

"We assess that investors are currently more selective in choosing sectors that are minimally affected by the continuation of PPKM Level 4 carried out by the government," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

The retail sector stocks weakened yesterday with an estimate that the impact of the weakening will continue into the third quarter of 2021.

Meanwhile, the banking and media sectors experienced various increases.

"We estimate that the JCI today has the potential to continue rising with investors who are already priced-in to the effect of extending the PPKM," explained the researchers.

The JCI on trading Tuesday (27/7) opened up 14.54 points (0.24%) to 6,120.93.

Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 rose 4.17 points (0.49%)
