Indonesia Economy Grows 7.07% in 2nd Quarter 2021


Indonesia's economic growth in the second quarter of 2021 increased by 7.07%, triggered by improved community activities and the low base effect of last year's growth.

"In the second quarter of this year, economic growth grew 3.31% quarter to quarter and 7.07% year on year. Household consumption and investment also contributed greatly to economic growth in the second quarter of 2021," said Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Margo Yuwono on Thursday (5/8).

According to him, from the expenditure side, 84.93% came from household consumption and investment.

"This means that household consumption and investment affect or are dominant in economic growth in the second quarter of 2021 when viewed based on expenditure," he explained.

Meanwhile, export performance grew by 31.78%, the highest among the expenditure sector. Meanwhile, the second growth was occupied by imports of 31.22%.
