Indika Energy to Increase Revenue from Non-coal Business


PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) targets the contribution of the non-coal business line to increase by 50% in the next five years.

INDY Deputy President Director Azis Armand said, to achieve this target, management ensures that it is ready to take several strategic steps, including reducing exposure to the coal business it owns.

"The plan to encourage the non-coal business segment will depend on two things, namely investment in the non-coal segment and strategic steps for coal assets. We will open all possibilities related to coal assets, whether it is divestment, cooperation or joint ventures, which essentially reduce exposure to coal, "Azis said on Tuesday (4/5).

Until the end of last year,  the coal sector still dominated INDY's revenue contributor. Of the US$2.07 billion revenue, 76% was contributed from the coal business and 24% from the non-coal segment.
