Indonesia Imports Reaches US$17.23 Billion


The Central Statistics Agency BPS announced that the import value in June 2021 reached US$17.23 billion.

The import value in June 2021 increased by 60.12% compared to the same month last year,  was at US$ 10.76 billion, and 21.03% compared to the position in May 2021, which was at US$ 14.23 billion.

This June, imports consisted of oil and gas imports of US$2.30 billion and non-oil and gas of US$14.93 billion.

"Compared to the previous two years, this June's import achievement is better," BPS Head Margo Yuwono added.

Based on the use of goods, the import value for consumption was at US$1.64 billion, raw/auxiliary materials US$13.04 billion, and capital goods US$2.55 billion. Thus, the role of the raw/auxiliary material category was to contribute around 75.69% of total imports this June.

Meanwhile, the share of non-oil and gas imports in June 2021 was still dominated by China at around 31.73% or equivalent to US$4.74
