IAI Supports Acceleration of Economic Recovery Post Covid-19
The Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) supports the acceleration of economic recovery after Covid-19 by helping business entities and the public sector mitigate and overcome the pandemic's financial reporting impact.
IAI National Executive Board, Prof. Mardiasmo, said that anticipating the impact of Covid-19 in Indonesia must be carried out in a balanced manner between aspects of handling health and economic recovery.
"In accordance with its professional competence, the IAI Concern Covid-19 Book was published in order to help business entities and the public sector mitigate and overcome the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on their financial reporting," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (31/3).
According to Mardiasmo, the book summarizes various recommendations from an accountant's perspective so that relevant stakeholders can handle the impact of Covid-19 quickly, effectively, efficiently, accountably, transparently, under statutory provisions, and free from corruption collusion, and nepotism.
"The IAI 63 Years Book contains contributions from the perspective of accountants who are IAI administrators at both the central and regional levels, who work in various sectors, across agencies and business fields," said the former Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2014-2019 period.
Furthermore, accountants' actions in mitigating the risks posed by Covid-19 and the new normal situation cover various sectors ranging from public sector financial management, information technology, the private sector, SOEs and MSMEs, the education sector, sharia accounting, to professional development.
