Jakarta - The price of gold on Tuesday (14/9) is expected to continue to consolidate below the level of US$1,800 per troy ounce.

"The market is still expecting the release of US inflation data tonight to be one of the basis for the Fed's considerations to make changes to its policy," said Commodity Observer Ariston Tjendra in Jakarta.

The data will be released around 19.30 WIB. Gold prices can move volatile after the release of the data.

The market expects US inflation in August to pick up again, and this could prevent gold prices from strengthening further above US$1,800 per troy ounce as rising inflation in the US will smooth the US downturn decision at the end of the year.
