Global Markets Support JCI to Move Higher


Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index on Wednesday (25/8) opened higher by 4.65 points in line with the positive sentiment of strengthening global stock markets.

"With the strengthening of global markets, the JCI today is expected to rebound in today's trading," said PT Samuel Sekuritas in its research note today in Jakarta.

The analysts said that market players would also pay close attention to the development of economic activities and the increase in Covid-19 cases after yesterday, the community activity restriction PPKM level 3 was implemented in several areas in Java-Bali.

Meanwhile, at the opening of trading this Wednesday, the JCI opened up 4.65 points (0.08%) to 6,094.15. The leading stock index LQ45 rose 0.94 points (0.11%) to 856.91.

US stock markets closed with a green trend in overnight trading for global conditions, where the Dow Jones index edged up 0.09% while the S&P500 rose 0.15% and the Nasdaq rose 0.52%.
