The positive global sentiment triggered the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) strengthening at the opening of trading on Wednesday (21/7) by 17.18 points.

"Today, we project that the JCI will strengthen, supported by the strengthening of global markets," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

Furthermore, although there is an extension of the Emergency PPKM due to the high number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, the extension is not too long, so the impact on the JCI is projected to be minimal.

Meanwhile, at the opening of trading on Wednesday, the JCI rose 17.18 points (0.29%) to 6,034.57.
