Semen Indonesia Allocates Rp1.5 Trillion for Solar Panels Development


Jakarta - PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) has planned capital expenditure for developing solar panels of Rp1.5 trillion.

"There is already a program to support the thermal substitution rate (TSR) in every factory from this year to the next 3–4 years," said Director of Finance and Risk Management Adriano Hosny Panangian on Monday (9/19).

According to Andriano, the company targets a solar panel initiative of 580 MW until 2030. This year it has started, but the capacity is not yet extensive.

"We will escalate it next year. For partners, we are open, not specific to certain companies, and now we are in the process of installing about 10 MW in some of our factories, and we invite several parties who can provide the best terms for us, "he explained.

According to Andriano, one way to increase TSR is through biomass. The TSR has reached 15% for the factory in Cilacap.
