The Jakarta Composite Index in the first trading session on Thursday (5/8) rose 43.39 points or 0.70% to 6,202.42.

There were 216 stocks rising, 269 shares lower, and 158 stocks unchanged. The total transaction volume reached 19.39 billion shares with a turnover of Rp10.32 trillion.

The increase in several sectoral indices supported the strengthening of the JCI. Meanwhile, six other sectoral indices weakened.

Meanwhile, the top gainers in the LQ45 were PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) up 4.94%, PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) up 4.33%, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) up 4.29%.

Among the top losers in the LQ45 were PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) down 4.04%, PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk (ERAA) down 3.82%, PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) down 3.61% .
