First Session, JCI Rises 0.31% to 6,012


Jakarta – In the first trade session today on Friday (20/8), the Jakarta Composite Index increased 0.31% or 18.73 points to 6,011.96.

Two hundred sixty stocks rose, 221 stocks fell, and 147 shares were unchanged. The entire volume of stock market transactions was 17.65 billion shares, valued at Rp8.04 trillion.

Six sectors indicators aided the JCI's ascension to the green zone. Meanwhile, the industrial sector dropped 1.57%, leading to a drop in five sectoral indices.

Meanwhile, the top LQ45 gainers were PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG) with a 7.09% gain, PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL) with a 3.46% gain, and PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (TOWR) with a 2.76% gain.

PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) -2.70%, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) -2.43%, and PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG) -1.88% were among the biggest losers in the LQ45.
