First Session, JCI Falls 0.90% to 6,058


Jakarta – In the first trade session today on  Thursday (26/8), the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) fell 55.01 points, or 0.90 %, to 6,058.22.

Of the composite, 162 stocks rose, 292 declined, and 183 remained unchanged. The total trading volume was 13.62 billion shares valued at Rp7.07 trillion.

Following the decrease in the JCI, all compact sectoral indices weakened. The Financial Sector IDX, which plummeted 1.17 %, was the sectoral index with the most severe decline.

The biggest gainers in the LQ45 among others were  PT Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Tbk (INKP) (3.31%), PT Paper Factory Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM) (2.60%), and PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk ( MNCN) (1.18%).

Meanwhile, the biggest losses in the LQ45 were PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR) (-5.04%), PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk (ACES) (-2.48%), and PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) (-2.40%).
