First Semester, Merdeka Copper Net Profit Falls 84.66% YoY to US$5.86 Million


Jakarta – As of the first semester of 2021, PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) reported a profit for the year attributable to parent entity owners of US$5.86 million, a decrease of about 84.66 % compared to the same period the previous year of US$38.26 million.

According to the financial report released on Wednesday (25/8), the year's low profit was caused by a 31.88 % fall in operating income to US$135,417 million, compared to US$198.81 million in the same period in 2020.

However, MDKA managed to reduce the cost of revenue by around 12.60%, from US$122.43 million to US$107 million.

Furthermore, the company increased its financial income to US$1.09 million in the first half of 2021, up from US$136,800 in the same period the previous year.
