Implementing the fourth level of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) will not be a barrier to the construction of the PT Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk (GDST) plate mill II factory.

"The construction of the plate mill II plant is still ongoing and the progress has reached 80.6%. When operating, the GDST II plate mill plant will have a production capacity of 1 million steel plates per year," said Corporate Secretary of PT Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk Hadi Sutjipto in a statement on Friday (30/7).

Currently, GDST has an installed production capacity of 400,000 tons of steel (plate mill-GDS) per year and an additional capacity of 60,000 tons of steel (ex-JPRS/Div-1) plate mill per year.

The company has allocated a capital expenditure (capex) of Rp60 billion this year. The company spends most of the capex funds to work on the plate mill II plant.
