Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS reported that exports in the third quarter of 2021 were recorded at US$61.42 billion, around 50.89% higher than the same period in the previous year of US$40.701 billion.

Based on the sector with the highest annual growth (YoY), the mining sector rose 161.20% to $S$10.729 billion from US$4.107 billion, following the manufacturing industry with a 38.96% increase to US$46.635 billion, and the oil and gas sector, which increased 56.13% to US$ 3.009 billion. The agricultural sector weakened 5.69% YoY to US$1.043 billion.

"When compared to the previous quarter this year which reached US$ 53.966 billion, exports grew by around 13.81%," said BPS Head Margo Yuwono through a virtual press conference on Friday (11/5).

Meanwhile, the import performance for the July-September 2021 period was recorded at US$48.175 billion or grew 46.98% compared to the same period last year of US$32.776 billion.
