Economic Improvement Supports JCI to Open Higher


Positive domestic sentiment strengthened the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the opening of trading on Friday (6/8) by 18.42 points.

"The positive sentiment of improving Indonesia's GDP growth in the second quarter of 2021 brings investor optimism to the improvement of the Indonesian economy," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

In addition, the JCI is expected to move higher in line with the strengthening of global markets.

As for the opening of trading this Friday, the JCI rose 18.42 points (0.3%) to 6,223.83.

Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 rose 4.49 points (0.53%) to 857.5.

For global conditions, US stock markets closed higher overnight with the Dow Jones Index up 0.78%, the S&P500 up 0.60%, and the Nasdaq gaining 0.78%, influenced by the release of quarterly performances from several companies that performed well.
