The rupiah exchange rate has the opportunity to strengthen on Friday (21/5) to the range of 14,300 per dollar, with potential resistance at 14,400 per dollar.

"RI's trade balance surplus in April, which was greater than the previous month, could help strengthen the rupiah," said money market observer Ariston Tjendra in Jakarta.

In addition, pressure from the 10-year tenor US government bond yield also eased. The yield started to move down to the range of 1.63%.
