Dollar Strength Drags Gold Price

Gold price on Friday's trading (26/3) has the potential to be corrected by moving in the range of US$1,700-1,745 per troy ounce.

Commodities Observer Ariston Tjendra said the US fourth-quarter GDP growth data showed better than expected results. GDP growth shows the US economy grew by 4.3% in Q4, which was better than 4.1% in the previous forecast.

"This will encourage the US Dollar to strengthen so that it will suppress the price of gold," he said in Jakarta.

As for yesterday's trade, the price of gold was closed lower at around US$1,726 per troy ounce or down US$7.
