PT Diagnos Laboratorium Utama Tbk (DGNS) posted a jump in net profit of up to 1,287.42% to Rp21.7 billion in the first quarter of 2021, compared to the same period in 2020 of Rp1.5 billion.

The profit surged thanks to the massive Covid-19 PCR tests in many company laboratories. The jump in net profit was in line with the 462% increase in revenue to Rp87.8 billion, compared to the same period in 2020 of Rp15.6 billion.

President Director of Diagnos Main Laboratory, Mesha Rizal Sini, said that the biomolecular business line is the leading contributor.

"This business line contributed Rp71 billion or 81.4% of the company's total revenue. The jump in donations was achieved after the company successfully carried out 124,906 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests in the first quarter of 2021 to assist the Covid-19 screening process for corporate, hospital and individual customers, "he said in a written statement in Jakarta, on Wednesday ( 19/5).
