Delameta Trials Elon Musk's Starlink Internet


Indonesian transportation system technology company PT Delameta Bilano will test high-speed satellite internet technology from Starlink, a subsidiary of Elon Musk's Tesla Motors.

Delameta President Director Bilano Tri Bayu Wicaksono said that Delameta was chosen as Starlink's trial partner in Indonesia, which was expected to inspire domestic research revival.

"For us, Starlink and Elon Musk are world-class technology research companies that can be used as models or benchmarks in the field of innovation, especially affordable, yet high-quality satellite internet solutions for the wider community to remote hinterlands so that it will be useful for educational, social and economic activities in the region. Imagine, even in the middle of a forest or mountain, Starlink's internet speed can reach 100 Mbps, "he said in Jakarta, Wednesday (31/3).

According to Bayu, Delameta is open to collaborating as a control system equipment manufacturer if Starlink decides to produce satellite modem equipment in Indonesia.

From the written statement submitted by Starlink to Delameta, Indonesia's trials will be carried out in early 2022. This is in line with the continued launch of more than 2,000 low orbit satellites by a consortium of rocket companies Space X and Starlink.

Delameta is a research-based national multi-ecosystem payment company that works on the digital payment system for toll road, port, Trans Jakarta, and parking transportation systems.

Delameta's payment system is currently available on 21 toll roads, including Jagorawi, Jakarta-Tangerang, Bogor Outer Ring Road, Palimanan-Kanci, Depok-Antasari, and 17 other toll roads, including the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road for the new capital and toll roads. Pekanbaru-Dumai, which some time ago was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo.

Delameta produces toll payment system tools, such as automatic vehicle classification (AVC), loop vehicle sensors, collecting terminal machines, infrared, crossbar or lane barrier systems, electronic toll collection (ETC), CCTV, variable message sign (VMS), to licenses plate recognition. Delameta produces the equipment at the Pulogadung factory, Jakarta, with a capacity of 400 units of full set system per year, where the local content of Delameta toll road equipment reaches a composition of over 60%.

Meanwhile, in the port payment system, the company is currently providing an access payment system (gate pass) at the Port of Tanjung Priok, Jakarta.

Delameta installed a payment instrument (reader) on the Trans Jakarta Metro Trans bus in the mass transportation system, capable of displaying transaction times and values ​​in real-time. Its tool called Enco Bus can accept QR-based payments, such as Doku, Link Aja, Dana, Gopay, and card-based, consisting of e-money Mandiri, Bank DKI, BTN, BCA, BRI, Bank Mega, BNI, and Nobu. As for the parking system, Delameta manages non-cash parking payments for the Angkasa Pura Kargo terminal in Soekarno Hatta.
