Dahana Develop Tunnel to Support Batang Toru Power Plant


PT Dahana supports the construction of the Batang Toru Hydroelectric Power Plant by constructing a tunnel.

GM of the Quarry and Construction Division of Dahana, Setio Budhianto, said that the company received the trust of Sinohydro Company Ltd, as the explosive support tasked with building a 12.5 km tunnel that stretches from Sipirok Village to Marancar Village, South Tapanuli.

"For this work, Dahana supports blasting activities with four blasting teams in several face tunnels. The project currently being carried out is one of the longest and largest tunnels with a tunnel diameter of 12 meters and a tunnel length of 12.5 km," Setio said in his statement on Tuesday (13/7).

The Batang Toru hydropower plant is the largest in Sumatra, with a capacity of 4×127.5 MW. It has a project value of US$1.66 billion or around Rp20 trillion. The hydropower plant is located on the Batang Toru River, Sipirok Village, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra
