Concern over Covid 19 Cases Triggers JCI to Fall


Market participants' concerns about the surge in COVID-19 cases triggered the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) weakening at the opening of trading Monday (21/6) by 47.16 points.

"For today, the JCI is expected to move lower, due to investors' fears of soaring COVID-19 cases, which are feared to disrupt the economy and the risk of a re-implementation of the lockdown," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange, at the opening of trading on Monday, was corrected 47.16 points (0.78%) to 5,959.97.
Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 fell 13.21 points (1.53%) to 849.95.

Meanwhile, this morning regional markets opened lower, with the Kospi down 0.67% and the Nikkei down 2.23%.
