Chandra Asri Targets Plastic Asphalt to Reach 100 Km in 2023


Jakarta - PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA) continues the Asphalt Plastic circular economy program for Indonesia Asri, which is targeted to reach 100 km by 2023.

"Until December 2021, Chandra Asri has deployed 50.8 km of plastic asphalt in various locations throughout Indonesia in collaboration with various parties," said Edi Rivai, Director of Legal, External Affairs, and Circular Economy at Chandra Asri, in a statement released in Jakarta on Wednesday (4/13).

The plastic asphalt uses 37.5 million pieces of plastic waste, or 282 tons of waste successfully managed from the Final Disposal Site (TPA).

To achieve the target of plastic asphalt mats, this year, the company is collaborating with the Garut Regency Government and the Bakti Barito Foundation to build plastic asphalt roads on various roads in Garut until 2023.
