Jakarta - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) is fully committed to developing and implementing the downstream coal project into dimethyl ether (DME).

A project with PT Pertamina (Persero) and Air Product and Chemical Inc. marks this commitment. The joint project, located in the Tanjung Enim Industrial Estate, South Sumatra, has carried out the first pole erection on Monday (24/1).

PTBA President Director Arsal Ismail said the groundbreaking was a historic momentum in the development of project cooperation.

"The company hopes that this groundbreaking will be a good illustration with PTBA's commitment and readiness. We also hope for the support of the President and related ministries and institutions for the smooth running of this downstream project," he said in a statement in Jakarta Wednesday (26/1).
