BPS: Deflation of 0.04% in September 2021


Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS recorded deflation of 0.04% in September 2021 with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.53.

"Deflation occurred due to a decline in prices as indicated by the decline in several indexes of expenditure groups," said PBS Head Margo Yuwono in a virtual press conference on Friday (1/10).

According to Margo, the expenditure groups were the food, beverage, and tobacco category, which fell 0.47%, and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.01%.
