BPS: Inflation Rises 1.17% in September


Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS announced an inflation rate of 1.17% with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 112.87 in September 2022.

"Inflation occurs due to rising prices, as indicated by the increase in most indexes of the expenditure group," said BPS Head Margo Yuwono in a press conference on Monday (10/3).

He added that the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were the food, beverage, and tobacco groups by 0.30% and the information, communication, and financial services groups by 0.03%.

Of the 90 CPI cities, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Bukittinggi at 1.87% with a CPI of 114.45 and the lowest occurred in Merauke at 0.07% with a CPI of 109.49.

Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Manokwari at 0.64% with a CPI of 113.97 and the lowest occurred in Timika at 0.59% with a CPI of 113.87.
