BPS: Indonesia Economy Grows 3.69% in 2021


Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS recorded Indonesia's economic growth in 2021 at 3.69% YoY, compared to a contraction of 2.1% in 2020.

According to the head of BPS, Margo Yuwono, the positive growth driver was the economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2021, which grew 5.02%.

"When viewed from the source of growth according to business field, the processing industry contributes the largest, which is 1.01% on an annual basis," said Margo through an online press conference on Monday (7/2).

The processing industry also recorded growth in the fourth quarter of 2021 of 4.92% compared to the same quarter last year, which contracted around 5.74%.

Meanwhile, if viewed from the source of quarterly economic growth according to expenditure, household consumption was the highest source of plants, at 1.91% YoY. In the fourth quarter of 2021, household consumption grew by 3.55%.
