BI Survey: Residential Property Sales Rise in First Quarter


The Bank Indonesia Residential Property Price Survey (RPPS) results indicated that residential property sales increase in the first quarter of 2021.

"This is reflected in residential property sales which grew by 13.95% (YoY), an increase compared to the 20.59% (YoY) contraction in the previous quarter," said BI's official in the publication released on Thursday (27/5).

In terms of prices, the survey results indicate that residential property prices grew limitedly in the first quarter of 2021. This development is reflected in the growth in the Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) in the first quarter of 2021, which was recorded at 1.35% (YoY), slightly lower than the growth in the first quarter of 2020 the previous quarter was 1.43% (YoY).

Meanwhile, primary residential property prices are predicted to maintain limited growth in Q2 / 2021 at 1.10% (YoY).
