Bank Indonesia (BI) has strengthened the payment system implementation ecosystem through the issuance of Bank Indonesia Regulation No.23/6/PBI/2021 concerning Payment Service Providers (PBI PSP) and Bank Indonesia Regulation No.23/7/PBI/2021 concerning Payment System Infrastructure Operators (PBI PSIO).

Governor Perry Warjiyo said the issuance of PBI PSP and PBI PSIO was aimed at strengthening the end-to-end Indonesian payment system ecosystem and encouraging healthy business practices through collaboration with industry representatives to accelerate an inclusive digital economy and finance.
