Bank Indonesia recorded a surplus after tax so far this year of Rp26,285 trillion or 21.18% lower than the previous year of Rp33,350 trillion surplus.

BI financial report published on Thursday (27/5) showed the surplus shrank due to a decrease in income of around 5.22% from Rp91.803 trillion.

In addition, total expenses increased by around 13.22% to Rp52,739 trillion for the period ended December 31, 2020, from the previous year, which was at Rp. 46.579 trillion.

An increase in the implementation of monetary policy by around 12.68% to Rp26,840 trillion from Rp23,780 trillion, and financial relations with the government grew by 50.25% to Rp10.608 trillion from Rp7,060 trillion, triggered a higher burden.

Meanwhile, BI's total assets were at Rp3,044 trillion, consisting of Rp3,044 trillion of liabilities.
