Although Covid-19 cases are still increasing, Bank Indonesia (BI) maintains a projected domestic economic growth in the range of 4.1% to 5.1%.

"The 2021 economy is still in line with the projection in April, which is in the range of 4.1% - 5.1%," said BI Governor Perry Warjiyo on Thursday (17/6).

BI based its optimism on foreign capital inflows, expectations of increasing public consumption, retail sales, and the highest increase in the manufacturing PMI index in history.

"Indicators of household consumption increase according to seasonal patterns, such as retail sales, beverages, tobacco and motor vehicles," he explained.

Meanwhile, Perry said, inflation is still under control and is expected at the end of the year to be within the range assumption of 2%-4%.
