BI: Loan Extension Increases in 2nd Quarter


The Banking Financing Demand and Supply Survey results in June 2021 indicated that new lending for the entire second quarter of 2021 was expected to increase compared to the previous quarter.

"This can be seen from the Weighted Net Balance (WNB), which was estimated to be 68.1% of new lending," said BI Executive Director Erwin Haryono in a statement in Jakarta on Monday (19/7).

Meanwhile, in June 2021, respondents estimated that new credit disbursement would grow higher than the previous month.

BI predicted new loan disbursement growth in June 2021 to occur in all bank categories based on the bank group.

Meanwhile, respondents believed that corporate financing needs in June 2021 tended to slow down compared to the previous month, with WNB at 12.8%, lower than 16.1% in May 2021.
