BI: Consumers Show Growing Confidence


The Bank Indonesia Consumer Survey (CS) for April 2021 indicates optimistic consumer confidence in the country's economic conditions.

"This is reflected in the April 2021 Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) of 101.5 which entered the optimistic zone (index> 100), an increase compared to 93.4 in March 2021," said the official publication of BI, on Monday (10/5).

CCI in April 2021 is also the first time the number showing optimism since CCI entered the pessimistic zone in April 2020.

Consumer confidence was observed to have improved in all respondents' expenditure levels, education level, and respondent age groups. Spatially speaking, consumer confidence has improved in all cities surveyed (18 cities), the highest in Padang, Bandung, and Pangkal Pinang.
