BI: Growing Consumer Confidence Restrained in July


The Bank Indonesia Consumer Survey in July 2021 indicated that consumer confidence in economic conditions was restrained, in line with the tightening mobility policy to address the increasing spread of the Delta Covid-19 variant.

After the April - June 2021 period was in the optimistic area (>100), the Consumer Confidence Index (IKK) in July 2021 was recorded at 80.2, lower than 107.4 in June 2021.

"Consumer confidence is holding up in July 2021 because consumers predict that the expansion of economic conditions in the next 6 months is still limited, both in terms of business activities and the availability of jobs," said BI Executive Director Erwin Haryono in a press release on  Monday (9/8).

However, consumer expectations of future earnings are maintained in the optimistic area.
