BI: Consumer Confidence Increases in June


The Bank Indonesia Consumer Survey noted that the Consumer Confidence Index (IKK) in June 2021 increased by 107.4, compared to 104.4 in May 2021, indicating that consumer optimism about economic conditions continues to strengthen.

"This condition needs to be maintained and observed in line with the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) to deal with the rise in Covid-19 in Indonesia," said Head of the BI Communications Department Erwin Haryono in an official publication in Jakarta on Thursday (8/7).

He explained that this also took into account the results of the Decree, which indicated the strengthening of consumer optimism in June 2021, mainly driven by improved consumer perceptions of current economic conditions, although they were still in the pessimistic area (<100).
