The Business Activity Survey (BAS) results by Bank Indonesia (BI) indicate that the performance of business activities in the second quarter of 2021 has accelerated compared to the previous quarter.

The Weighted Net Balance (WNB) increased to 18.98%, up from 4.50% in the first quarter of 2021.

"This increase was driven by the performance of a number of sectors, the majority of which grew positively," said Head of the BI Communications Department Erwin Haryono in his statement, Wednesday (14/7).

BI noted that the sector that experienced the highest growth was mining and quarrying with a WNB of 8.5%, driven by increasing domestic demand and supported by increased production.

Other sectors that grew positively were the trade, hotels, and restaurants sector with WNB 3.66%, the manufacturing industry with WNB 2.46%, and the agriculture, plantation, livestock, forestry, and fishery sectors WNB 1.38%.
