Jakarta - PT Berlian Manyar Sejahtera (BMS) and PT Freeport Indonesia signed an agreement to construct and use port infrastructure located in the Gresik JIIEP Special Economic Zone on September 3, 2021.

Under the agreement, BMS will build, operate and maintain BMS Infrastructure, such as bridges and seawater intake buildings, special docks for PTFI, trestles, and provide port services for PTFI for loading and unloading PTFI's goods at PTFI's docks.

This agreement is valid for 40 years, including granting executive rights by BMS to grant PTFI the use and access to the BMS Infrastructure built for PTFI during that period to support the operation of the smelter project in the JIIPE Gresik SEZ.

PTFI has started constructing the smelter, which is expected to be completed before the end of 2023.
