Dharma Satya Builds Six Plants for Rp676.8 Billion
PT Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk (DSNG) will build six new Bio-CNG plants with an investment value of up to US$47 million or the equivalent of around Rp676.8 billion.
President Director of Dharma Satya Nusantara, Andrianto Oetomo, said that the new Bio-CNG plant's construction is to implement the circular economy concept by reducing waste from the production of the palm oil industry. Also, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save the use of fossil fuels significantly.
"We get two benefits at once, namely savings in the use of diesel fuel in the palm oil industry which is being implemented and also in a sustainable manner, our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions," he said in Jakarta, on Friday (26/3).
According to Andrianto, in the next three years, his party will have 7 Bio-CNG plants. That way, the company can save around 16 million liters of diesel per year or reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 400,000 tons of CO2 per year.
"The first stage is in a series of construction of six-second Bio-CNG plants in East Kalimantan. This new unit utilizes palm oil waste (POME) from two Palm Oil Mills (POM) with a capacity of 2 x 60 tons per hour, "he explained.
The company expects the second plant to start its operations in the second quarter of 2022 and produce electricity of 2 x 850 kilowatts and biomethane gas with a capacity of 540 m3 per hour.
The second Bio-CNG plant's operation will reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 100,000 metric tons of CO2 per year.
Previously, in September 2020, DSNG commissioned its first Bio-CNG plant. The company built the first Bio-CNG plant by utilizing liquid waste from 1 POM with a processing capacity of 60 tons of FFB / hour. This Bio-CNG plant produces electricity with 2x600 kilowatts, so the total power produced is 1.2 MegaWatt. The electrical energy generated can be utilized for the processing of Palm Kernel in the Kernel Crushing Plant (KCP) and the BioCNG Plant Production process itself.
With the first Bio-CNG plant's operation, DSNG saves at least 2 million liters of diesel per year, which has been used as fuel for generators in palm oil mills and kernel mills.
