PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk (GJTL) in the first semester of 2021 achieved a profit for the year attributable to owners of the parent entity of Rp96.17 billion, swinging from the same period last year with a loss of Rp149.41 billion.

The financial report published on Thursday (5/8) showed that an increase in the company's net sales by around 22.49%  to Rp7.26 trillion from Rp5.92 trillion supported the profit.

GJTL also managed to get a share of the net profit of associates and joint ventures worth Rp12.84 billion from the previous loss of around Rp43.92 billion.

In addition, the company reduced the rate of foreign exchange losses by more than double or from Rp162.55 billion to Rp86.71 billion.

Until the first semester of 2021, GJTL's total assets were at Rp18.88 trillion with a cash and cash equivalent position at the end of the period of Rp1.39 trillion.
