PT Bakrie Telecom Tbk (BTEL) recorded a loss attributable to the parent entity owners for the period ending September 2020, amounting to Rp60.169 billion. In the same period, last year it managed to book a profit of Rp7,170 billion.

In the company's financial statements published Monday (18/1), it showed the operating income was also down 17.84% to Rp3,036 billion during the same period in 2020.from Rp4,024 billion in the period ended September 2019.

The company reported a lower foreign exchange gain during the first nine months of 2020 by 87.49%  to only Rp23 489 billion from Rp195,829 billion in the period last year. Financial burdens swelled to Rp71.566 billion from Rp15 million previously.

The Telecommunication company managed to reduce operating expenses during the January-September 2020 period by 71.23%, to Rp10,720 billion from Rp27.303 billion in the corresponding period in 2019.

Meanwhile, the company reported cash and cash equivalents' position on September 30 at Rp305 million, falling from Rp866 million in the previous period in 2019. The company's total assets were at around Rp4.544 billion as of the end of September 2020.
