Bahana TCW: Energy Crisis Due to Supply Shock


Jakarta - Chief Economist of Bahana TCW Investment Management (Bahana TCW) Budi Hikmat said that the current energy crisis in several countries is a supply shock.

"Because in general, post-pandemic public demand has started to grow, but on the other hand, the supply chain is not ready to return to production levels as before the pandemic," he said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday (11/10).

According to Budi, European gas supplies from Russia were disrupted, coal prices in China also crept up due to a dispute with one of the largest coal producers, namely Australia. Supply from Indonesia was also disrupted by the rainy season, and local producers in China were affected by the government's focus on green energy.
