Bahana: Rupiah Fundamental Remains Strong


Head of Macroeconomics and Investment Strategy Director of PT Bahana TCW Investment Management, Budi Hikmat, stated that the fundamentals of the Rupiah are still relatively strong.

"This is because it is supported by a strong increase in commodity prices and offsetting the increase in oil import prices," he said in an official statement, on Tuesday (20/4).

Currently, the current account to GDP (CA / GDP) is only 0.45%, inflation is maintained at the level of 1.37%, foreign debt to GDP is 10.71%. In 2013, CA / GDP reached 3%, inflation was at the level of 4.86%, foreign debt to GDP was 11.53%. Indonesia also has a larger dollar reserve this year, amounting to US$137 billion compared to 2013, amounting to US$107 billion.
