PT Astra International Tbk (the ASII) posted a decrease in profit attributable to the parent company owners throughout 2020, eroded 25.53 percent (YoY) to Rp16.164 trillion compared to the previous year of Rp21.707 trillion.

Based on the company's financial reports published on Thursday (25/2), the lower profit was triggered by pressured operating income by around 26.16 percent from Rp237.166 trillion to Rp170.046 trillion.

Nevertheless, ASII succeeded in reducing the revenue costs by around 26.98 percent to Rp136.488 trillion in the period of ending 2020 from Rp.186.927 trillion at the end of 2019.

On the other hand, the company pocketed a profit from selling its investment in PT Bank Permata Tbk, amounting to Rp5.881 trillion.

The company's total assets until the period ending 2020 were recorded at Rp338.203 trillion or decreased by around 3.90 percent from Rp351.958 trillion in the previous year.

Meanwhile, the position of cash, cash equivalents, and overdrafts at the end of 2020 amounted to Rp47.554 billion, a double increase from Rp24.324 billion in the previous year.
