Astra International Injected US$40 Million Capital into Sayurbox, Halodoc

PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) invested in the Sayurbox and Halodoc platforms worth US$40 million or the equivalent of Rp581.96 billion.

The details are that Sayurbox received an injection of funds of US$5 million and Halodoc of Rp30 million. Astra carried out the capital injection in March and April 2021.

"The Astra Group is the main investor in the new funding rounds from the two startups from Indonesia," said President Director of Astra International, Djony Bunarto Tjondro, in a press release, on  Wednesday (21/4).

Sayurbox is an e-commerce grocery farm-to-table platform and distributor of fresh goods, while Halodoc is an online-based health platform.

Based on the first quarter of the 2021 report, the Astra Group's consolidated net income fell 4% to Rp51.7 trillion, compared to the same period last year of Rp54 trillion. Net profit was recorded at Rp3.7 trillion, down 22% from Rp4.81 trillion.

This low achievement was due to lower contributions from almost all business segments.
