Indonesia Inflation Rises 0.13% MoM in April


The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that inflation in April 2021 was 0.13%, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.29.

Meanwhile, the inflation rate for the calendar year (January – April) 2021 is 0.58%, and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2021 against April 2020) was 1.42%. The core component in April 2021 experienced an inflation of 0.14%. The inflation rate for the core components for the calendar year (January – April) 2021 is 0.37%, and the year-on-year core component inflation rate (April 2021 against April 2020) was 1.18%.

Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated in the rise in most indexes for the expenditure group, namely the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 0.20%; clothing and footwear group by 0.19%; housing, water, electricity, and household fuels group of 0.07%; equipment, tools, and household routine maintenance group of 0.26%; health group of 0.18%.
