AKR Corporindo Net Profit Jumps 30% YoY to Rp925 Billion in 2020

PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA) posted an increase in net profit of 30% to Rp925 billion in 2020, compared to the same period in 2019  of Rp714 billion, an increase in profit margins supported this growth.

President Director of AKR Corporindo Haryanto Adikoesoemo said the increase in net profit was in line with its operating profit growth, which reached 15% to Rp1.25 trillion.

"The balance sheet has also shown a strong performance with a decrease in the portion of the debt to equity to 22%," he said in Jakarta, Thursday (25/3).

According to Haryanto, this net profit growth shows the company's robust business model. The reason is, even amid the Covid-19 pandemic, AKR was able to survive and record consistent performance.

This can be seen from the operating profit margin, which increased to 7.1%, and the net profit margin reaching 5.2%.

"Investing in storage facilities at major ports, logistics networks, and IT platforms is the key to success in delivering products to customers on time and without obstacles. In addition, achieving operational efficiency improves performance," he said.

Until now, AKR has invested Rp7 trillion in the last five years. The company uses it to improve Indonesia's logistics infrastructure and connectivity.

This return on investment will also support double-digit profit growth in the future.

"This investment includes the Java Integrated Industrial Port Estate (JIIPE) which has contributed to the company's profitability. JIIPE offers many advantages, such as deep sea ports, one-stop utilities, and services, as well as ease of licensing," he said.
