Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS recorded the number of foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia in August 2021 decreased by 21.19% compared to the number of visits in August 2020.

"Similarly, when compared to July 2021, the number of foreign tourist visits in August 2021 has decreased by 6%," said BPS Head Margo Yuwono in a virtual press conference, Friday (1/10).

Cumulatively (January–August 2021), the number of foreign tourist visits reached 1.06 million, down 69.17% compared to the number of foreign tourist visits in the same period 2020, which amounted to 3.44 million trips.

The Room Occupancy Rate (ROR) for star classification hotels in Indonesia in August 2021 reached 25.07%, down 7.86 points compared to the ROR in August 2020, which was 32.93%. On the other hand, the ROR in August 2021 increased by 2.69 points compared to July 2021.
